Well its 2011, and its book challenge time.

I started last year thinking I could accomplish this but life got in the way and I didn't feel like reading much. So I will do my best to accomplish this, my blog will be moving though to another link. I posted the link to the book challenge if anyone is interested.

Glass Houses And The Dead Girls Dance by Rachel Caine

Sypnosis of Glass Houses

Welcome to Morganville, Texas.
Just don't stay out after dark.
College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation, where the popular girls never let her forget just where she ranks in the school's social scene: somewhere less than zero.
When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

Sypnosis of The Dead Girls Dance

Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

I'm playing catch up w/ all my reviews, so I'm doing a 2 in 1. This series has been a hard one for me to put down. It catches your attention from the very beginning. I like how the next book always pick up from the ending of the other book. In the 1st book Claire is shy, scared 16 year-old College Freshman, who gets picked on by this girl named Monica. After a series of unfortunate events at school, Claire decides to move off Campus. That is when she finds the advertisement for the Glass House. She shows up there all bruised and battered and they decide to let her stay there temporarily. That is when all the vampire trouble starts with her and the roommates.

On the 2nd book Claire is living in the Glass House permanently and is learning all the vampire rules in town. Shane's vampire hunter dad is in town, and when a vampire is found dead Shane gets blamed for it. It is up to Claire and Eve to rescue Shane who has been sentenced to death.

9/11/01 We Will Always Remember

I'm pretty sure everyone remembers where they were on this day. At that time I was Active Duty Air Force, and I remember when the 1st airplane hit everyone was like "Is that for real?" Then the 2nd airplane hit the 2nd tower, then flight 93 went down and then the Pentagon was struck. That was a wake up call for all off us. Thousands of lives were lost that day on our soil. Many Mothers, Fathers, Grandfathers, Grandmothers, Sister, Brothers, Sons and Daughters. We should always remember that there are people out there that will always want to hurt us. No matter what we should always stand together and be Proud to be an American.

Blue Moon by Alyson Noel (The Immortals 2)

Eager to learn everything she can about her new abilities as an Immortal, Ever turns to her beloved Damen to show her the way. But just as her powers are increasing, Damen’s are waning.

In an attempt to save him, Ever travels to the magical dimension of Summerland, where she learns the secrets of Damen’s tortured past; a past which he has always kept hidden from her. But in her quest to cure Damen, Ever discovers an ancient text that details the workings of time. Now Ever must choose between turning back the past and saving her family from the accident that claimed their lives—or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows sicker every day...

_________________________

As Damen is trying to teach Ever everything he knows, Damen's past comes to hunt him. Ever doesn't trust the new the new student named Roman. Soon after he arrives in school Damen becomes sick, the students become one group and turn on Ever, including Damen. He accuses her of being obssesed and a stalker. Through out the book Ever travels to Summerland trying to find a way to help Damen and save his life. During her trips to Summerland she finds out she can go back in time and maybe save their lives, but she chose Damen. I have enjoyed this series so far and I cant wait till the 3rd book that will be released later this year.

Evermore by Alyson Noel (The Immortals 1)

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, Ever can see auras, hear people's thoughts, and know a person's entire life story by touch. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen.

Damen Auguste is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head—wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can see straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. She has no idea just who he really is—or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

After loosing her parents ever moves half way accross the country to live with her wealthy Lawyer aunt. She is considered a freak in her new school, she is constantly wearing hoodies, and using her IPod to hide and to avoid hearing others thoughts. When she meets Damen, the new guy in school, everything changes for her. When he is around she feels at peace. The only thing that gets tiring about this book is the back and forth between Damen and Ever. They want each other, then they don't, she hates him, then she doesn't. Other than that I think the book was worth reading.
